Contact Microphone for acoustic instruments. These mics sound incredible! Especially for the price!
This contact mic is really nice. 27mm wide (just over 1") Heavy duty to withstand the abuse of gigging and traveling. The 4" wires attached to the mic are also nice and flexable. Nice professional solder joint from the factory. What I really like is the factory put a drop of silicon right at the solder joint where the wire touches the metal. Ths drastically increases durability where the wires and mic meet.
Just attach a jack of your choice to the wires and tape or glue the mic to the guitar. inside or out. Try it in different spots to find that sweet sounding spot. You can just hang the wire/jack from the guitar or install a jack permanately. Jack not included.
I do include double sided foam tape. Just remember that once the tape is attached to the mic and/or instrument, its stuck... really good! I left it seperate in case you want to do something else.
Then just plug into a power source and your ready. I would suggest a cheap pre-amp if your amp or sound system doesn't have an unbalanced input available for best results. This is the case for all contact mics.....
Remember you can't sing or talk into a contact mic. It works off of the vibration of the instrument its attached to. Contact mics have the advantage of being able to eliminate interfering external sounds and not be influenced by sound reflections from nearby objects.
