This auction is for a vintage, original, made in 1976 left-handed Fender Precision Bass Black/White/Black plastic pickguard. The body shown in the picture is not included, and shown for reference purposes only! Please see my separate auction for that matching 1976 lefty Precision Bass natural body this pickguard came from.
THE GOOD NEWS:
This uncommon left-handed 1976 Fender Precision Bass pickguard is original, and does not have any cracks. It has no shrinkage, it lays flat, and it fits properly. It came off the 1976 lefty PBass body in my other auction. Date verification information as follows: neck pocket stamped 8161, pickups stamped 162076, neckplate stamped 707427. This Fender pickguard is typical of PBass pickguards during the 1974-1976 period.
THE (NOT TOO) BAD NEWS:
There are some slight indentations at the truss rod adjustment notch from a screwdriver (typical, I've seen much worse). The indentations do not go into the white layer. The two pickup cover screw holes look to be a touch flared from running the countersunk pickup cover screws into the pickguard after removing the pickup cover. The pickguard has its fair share of player surface scratches. If the buyer feels so inclined, I believe most (if not all) of the scratches can be carefully wet-sanded down, and bufffed out without any problem.
NOTE: I'll waive all shipping/handling on this pickguard if you win it and my other auction for the 1976 lefty PBass body.
