Item Description

Vintage King 1130 "Flugabone" + Hard Case

This auction is for a vintage King model 1130 "Flugabone". Information found online states the following about this instrument: "With the popularity of Drum and Bugle Corps organizations starting in the 1950's and 60's, many manufacturers came up with a line of instruments collectively called Marching Brass. This is the King "Flugabone". It is what you would have if you took a valve trombone and wrapped up the tubing like a flugelhorn, hence the name. Pitched in Bb and using a trombone mouthpiece, it has an 81/2" bell and .500" bore."

This particular piece is an older model, former high school property. The keys & valves all operate smoothly with good spring return action, water drains as well. Has a few small dings here and there on tubing as shown in photos, and a crease at the bell area, but overall looks to be in pretty nice shape. Lacquer finish is largely intact in most areas, though with light scratches & some blemishes. I couldn't get a real good picture of the King engraving mark because of camera flash, but it says "King 1130 USA", and is much easier to read when actually looking at it. No mouthpiece is included, but the kid next door plays trombone in middle school band, so I had him attach his 12C mouthpiece to this & try it out, & according to him it sounds fine, but use that info for what it's worth, since he's only been playing for two years, and slide trombone at that. The case is in good condition, no keys included, but latches are unlocked. Sold "as is", all photos are of actual items being sold. Serial # mark on the number two valve is 36 161182 USA. Will ship via Fedex, quality packed & insured.

Thanks for looking and for bidding! Paypal, Cashiers Checks, Money Orders & Personal Checks accepted. Personal Checks (including E-Checks) must clear before shipping. Items normally ship the next day, two at most, after payment is received. Buyer pays actual shipping cost. I pack things right, wrapped & very well protected, check my feedback and you'll see that mentioned often. Most items go FedEx Ground, online trackable, insured to full purchase price. Payment expected within 7 days of auction end, unless other arrangements have been made Prior to Bidding, otherwise I reserve the right to relist & resell item, so if you are not prepared to pay within a week, then please do not bid. Thank you for your courtesy.

I return all feedback received, sometimes it takes me a few days to update, but it will happen. For the extremely rare occasion (maybe once in the last 3 years) that damage occurs during shipping, it will be the responsibility of buyer to initiate and pursue a claim with the shipping company, normally Fedex. Items are described as accurately as possible and if said to be tested and working, then you can be assured they will ship that way. If sold "as is", buyer assumes all risk of any untested problem that may be present, with all sales final. I will NEVER auction something with a known problem without mentioning it in the listing, but often acquire pieces that I either do not have the expertise to test, or do not have other equipment on hand required to perform testing, so sometimes I have no choice except to sell "as is". I try my very best to describe & show items in full detail, which basically means "what you see is what you get", so if something is not shown in photos or described in text, such as cables, remote controls, software, etc., then it's probably not included. I'll be happy to answer questions by email, just please ask before, and not after bidding. If upon delivery a problem is found that contradicts any statement made on auction and buyer decides to bypass a damage claim with the shipping company and instead return merchandise directly to me, then they will be responsible for return shipping cost along with a restock fee equal to 20% of bid amount, neither of which is refundable. I will then inspect and test merchandise and issue a refund if complaint is justified & serial numbers match. Items to be returned directly to me will only be accepted if I'm notified of such by email within 24 hours of delivery.
