This auction is for one (1) Tascam ES-60
synchronizer/time code stripe outboard unit.
This auction includes a specialty cable for synchronizing two Otari analog tape
machines. If you have two analog tape machines, you can double your track
count by syncing your machines. Nice. This unit also stripes analog
tape with the needed time code. Read more info below on syncing many
different types of gear with this outboard gear. This item has been discontinued by Tascam
and is very hard to find. It has very specific uses and a valuable find
for those in need of this kind of sync gear. This outboard gear has seen
low use and has been kept in a non-smoking
recording studio. Gear has been kept clean and has no visible scuffs or
scratches. Item INCLUDES Original Box, Power Cord and Users Manual.
This piece retailed for $1400-1600 in 1999. This recording studio is
upgrading/expanding equipment needs and no longer has use for this gear in it's

SMPTE/EBU
timecode-controlled synchronizer designed for sychronizing VTR's, ATR's or
others which are capable of locking to external references.

used as an interface unit in an edit system controlled by the optional
Tascam ES-61 Editing Control Unit in order to sync machines on which sync
capabilities are not implemented or to control machines which do not have
standard communication ports.

Synchronization over a standard RS-422 interface.

master sync with a single ES-60 system.

In a multiple
ES-60 system, any ES-60 can be assigned as the master without re-patching
cables.

has been implemented so the ES-60 can be controlled from a video editing

The ES-60 can
be connected to a variety of machines. Which means that the correct
connections and settings are essential for your system to function
correctly. We strongly recommend that you read this operation manual
before attempting to use the ES-60.

Most machines
can be controlled from the ES-60 but only if they can be locked to external
sync references.

The ES-60
does not support the VTR control protocol developed by AMPEX.

Before
attempting any cable connections, be sure to check to see that the ES-60 is
not powered on, and neither are the machines you intend to use with it.
